On Sept. 16, City Council will vote on a proposed property tax rate of $0.176783, a slight decrease from 2024-25’s rate of $0.1786, during a special meeting.

In terms of city budget expenditures and revenues, numbers have been updated from the city’s previous budget proposal, shared on July 2.
According to the current budget, as of Sept. 10, revenues for the city are estimated at $10.12 million, with expenditures totaling $10.10 million, leaving a budget surplus of $16,393.
The majority of the city’s revenue, 78%, comes from taxes, with interest and miscellaneous revenue constituting 9% of revenues.
Of the city’s general fund maintenance and operation expenditures, 39% will go to police.
What else?
Separate from budget discussions, West Lake Hills will also ask voters to authorize the city’s collection of $0.005 of sales tax to be put toward city street maintenance projects in November.
