The Bee Cave City Council voted Sept. 28 to accept the resignation of council member Jon Cobb, who filed the document on Sept. 19, according to city documents.
Cobb resigned over personal reasons, and in part, due to insults and poor behavior from a number of people with whom Cobb has had disagreement, according to a Sept. 22 Facebook post from Bee Cave Mayor Kara King.
“Our society doesn’t respect difference of opinion,” King stated in her post on the social media platform. “Elected officials are taking it particularly hard right now. From councils, to statewide offices and especially school board members, the attacks are vicious.”
Cobb was first elected to the Bee Cave City Council in 2018 and was reelected in 2020, according to his online biography posted on the Bee Cave website.
