Following power outages and impassable roads, Eanes and Lake Travis ISDs will remain closed Feb. 3.
EISD announced several campuses are without power and are currently under a water boil notice. There is not an estimate on when power will be restored, EISD’s notice said, but the district is getting facilities safe for classes to resume Monday.
“While we know families are eager to have students return, we simply cannot operate schools under these unsafe conditions,” the notice said. “Unfortunately, we do not see any other option but to remain closed tomorrow as are many school districts in the greater-Austin area.”
EISD anticipates students will not have to make up additional lost calendar days, the district said.
