Austin Public Health reported a total of 21,549 coronavirus cases in Travis County as of Aug. 3. Of that, there have been 19,266 recovered cases and 285 fatalities.
Active cases in all of Travis County are estimated at approximately 1,998, based on the reported number of recoveries and fatalities. Austin Public Health does not report fatalities, hospitalizations or active cases per ZIP code.
There are 310 hospitalizations in the metropolitan statistical area of Travis, Williamson, Hays, Bastrop and Caldwell counties, 75 of whom are on ventilators. The area’s intensive care units are holding 114 individuals, according to APH officials.
Thirty-six new coronavirus patients were admitted to metropolitan area hospitals Aug. 3, marking the fifth straight day of daily admissions below the seven-day moving average threshold of 37.
