After a shelter-in-place order was issued by Travis County on March 24, Lake Travis ISD extended the closure of all school facilities until midnight April 13 in a continued effort to slow the spread of COVID-19.
According to Travis County’s order, educational entities, such as school districts, may continue to provide essential services during shelter-in-place. Superintendent Brad Lancaster stated in a letter March 25. This includes mobile meals and other critical functions.
Since March 23, LTISD has been distributing free meals for children up to 18 years old via drive-thru centers established at Bee Cave, Hudson Bend and Lake Travis middle schools.
Packaged breakfast and lunch are available for pickup Mon.-Fri. 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at each middle school’s bus drop-off location.
