Austin Public Health reported 482 new coronavirus cases in Travis County on July 7, bringing the total to 12,408. Of that, there have been 9,348 recovered cases and 151 fatalities.
Active cases in all of Travis County are estimated at approximately 2,909 based on the reported number of recoveries and fatalities. Austin Public Health does not report active cases per ZIP code.
There are 469 hospitalizations in the metropolitan statistical area of Travis, Williamson, Hays, Bastrop and Caldwell counties, 89 of which are on ventilators. The MSA’s intensive care units are holding 148 individuals, according to Austin Public Health officials.
Of the 12,408 cases, 618 originate from the Lake Travis-Weslake area, which encompasses nine ZIP codes in western Travis County.
