The proposed property tax rate in West Lake Hills increased from $.065 to $.07 per $100 valuation after a second public hearing was held Aug. 29. This budget will raise more revenue from property taxes than last year’s budget by about $226,000—a 17.86 percent increase from last year’s budget, district documents said. The estimated tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year is about $26,800. This raise will cost the average West Lake Hills homeowner about $58 more each year, Mayor Linda Anthony said. “We continue to have one of the lowest rates in the state, despite having raised taxes last year and this year,” Anthony said.
