A children's creative studio, clothing store and pet hospital are among the new businesses to open up around the Lake Travis-Westlake area. Check out these 11 updates.

Austin Surf Lodge
The lakefront “micro-resort” and wellness club opened in Spicewood on Memorial Day. The property offers lakefront cabins and suites that can be rented individually or combined for large groups. Wellness and water activities including paddle boarding, kayaking, a sauna, and hot tub, while wakesurfing and pontoon charters are available to overnight guests and the general public.
Little Spark Studio
The children’s creative studio celebrated the grand opening of its Fitzhugh Road location in June. Little Spark Studio is a creative space for children offering open craft hours, themed events and birthday parties. The studio offers curated party packages that include a complete setup and cleanup, goodie bags for each guest, a take-home craft, access to the foam play pit and a customized digital invite.
Levi’s
The brand opened a new location in Barton Creek Square. Levi’s specializes in denim products for men, women and children, including jeans, shorts, shirts, dresses and other apparel. The new story will open on the lower level of Barton Creek Square, located across from the Care Bears Play Area.
West Austin Pet Hospital
The pet hospital, owned by Dr. Sean Quintana, offers a range of services to care for pets, including wellness exams, blood work, vaccinations, surgery, dental care, microchipping and more. The facility also provides urgent care visits and emergency care. Pet owners can utilize the hospital’s wellness plans to help keep track of routine care and comprehensive preventative services.
Lakeway Village Square Grooming
The business provides a full grooming service that includes haircuts, a bath with premium shampoo and conditioner, blow drying, brushing, nail clipping, ear cleaning and more. Customers can also choose a mini-groom service or luxury bath. The business offers both appointments and walk-in services.

The facility will offer a range of cardio equipment, weights and exercise machines. Other features and amenities include personal training, group classes, locker rooms with showers, HydroMassage and tanning. The gym offers three different membership options.

What’s next
Sorelle Studio
Plans are in the works for a new pilates studio and “wellness sanctuary,” in Lakeway, according to the Sorelle Studio website and a filing from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Sorelle Studio offers three types of classes, including Gentle Strength, Sorelle Signature and Control Strength.

Avanti Senior Living at Bee Cave
Avanti Senior Living, a Texas-based senior living company, took over management of Longleaf Longleaf Bee Cave in July. The community will continue to have the same team provide care for residents, families and associates. The living community features a restaurant offering three meals a day, a fitness studio, art studio, full-service salon and more.
SPS PoolCare
The pool service company headquartered in Austin celebrated its five-year anniversary in July. SPS PoolCare operates across Texas, Florida, Arizona, Nevada and Georgia, serving more than 50,000 weekly recurring residential and commercial customers and performing over 2.5 million pool services annually, according to a press release from the company.
River Place Country Club
The first of a two-phase renovation at River Place Country Club is now complete, Arcis Golf announced in June. The Austin club’s renovations include a new two-story fitness center, dining and social spaces, and a new retail setting. The two-story wellness hub includes dedicated strength and cardio areas, a Pilates studio, yoga studio and a recovery suite. The recovery suite features NormaTec compression boots, red light therapy and a zero-gravity massage chair. Another amenity space offers members a Finnish sauna and Frost Locker cold therapy space. The club is expected to complete further renovations this fall, with plans for an updated arrival experience, lobby, family restaurant and personal workspaces.

Verde’s Mexican Parrilla
The Mexican grill near Bee Cave closed. The restaurant served up a variety of Mexican-inspired dishes including tacos, nachos and enchiladas. Owner Cody Kidwell took over the business in 2019 with his wife Allana Henry and business partner Brandon Metz.
