The 47,000-square-foot center is the brainchild of local residents Scott and Jennifer Emley and features 28 bowling lanes, a two-story laser tag arena, a bar/lounge and five private rooms.
“The different places we’ve lived in—Dallas and Colorado—have had family entertainment centers, and we realized the need for one here in Lakeway,” Jennifer said. “We made a phone call to Brunswick [Bowling & Billiards] and had a market study done. [It] turns out this is one of the best markets they’ve ever seen for [a center]. So two years later, here we are.”
The name High 5 alludes to the type of feeling the center aims to evoke and was chosen because a high-five hand slap is the universal symbol of having a good time, Jennifer said.
