1. West Lake Houston Parkway extension
McCord Development, the company behind Generation Park off Beltway 8, broke ground in January on its project to extend West Lake Houston Parkway roughly 2.5 miles through Generation Park from Lockwood Road to North Lake Houston Parkway. The new four-lane road will include a raised median and 8-foot sidewalks to connect the extension to trails across the development. The project will be completed in two phases, with the first phase expected to be completed in September.

2. Northpark Drive intersection improvements
Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone 10 and the Lake Houston Redevelopment Authority will soon wrap up a project to improve the intersection of Northpark Drive and West Lake Houston Parkway. The project included adding turn lanes and upgrading traffic signals. The mast arm signal was delivered in early May, and the signal is expected to be installed and operational in early June, after press time.

3. Sorters McClellan Road expansion
Montgomery County Precinct 4 has entered the design phase for the expansion of Sorters McClellan Road from two to four lanes from just south of Northpark Drive to FM 1314. The project also includes adding turn lanes at major intersections and drainage improvements.

4. Loop 494 expansion
The Texas Department of Transportation will begin reconstructing Loop 494 between Sorters McClellan Road and Northpark Plaza in late summer. The project includes expanding the road from two to four lanes, adding a raised turf median, and adding center turn lanes at intersections and sidewalks. Traffic flow will be reduced to one lane during construction.

5. Woodland Hills Drive intersection improvements
Harris County Precinct 4 began construction on a project to install a traffic signal and pedestrian ramp accommodations at the intersection of Woodland Hills Drive and Liles Lane in late April. Construction will take roughly 45 days to complete.
