Several facilities and offices will be closed or have limited hours for the Fourth of July. Take a look to see which Keller, Roanoke and Fort Worth government offices will have adjusted hours during the holiday weekend.
Keller
Keller will have several adjusted facility hours. While Keller Town Hall will be closed as usual on Friday, Keller Parks and Recreation will host the sixth annual Keller Lights.
The event will be from 6-10 p.m. July 3 and have live music from Emerald City, a hotdog eating contest, balloon artists, face painting, an aerialist performer, temporary tattoos, photo ops, stilt walkers, a bubble artist and a fireworks show, according to the city’s Facebook page.
Other city facility closures include:
- Keller Senior Activities Center: closed July 3
- Keller Public Library: closed July 3-4
- The Keller Pointe: closing at 5 p.m. July 3; adjusted July 4 hours: 8 a.m.-8 p.m. with pools closing at 7 p.m.
Trash and recycling in Keller will run as normal before and after the holiday, according to the city’s post.
Roanoke
All city of Roanoke offices, including City Hall, the Roanoke Municipal Court and the public works department, will be closed July 3, city officials confirmed.
Roanoke will host its annual July 3 celebration on Oak Street from 5-10 p.m. According to a city Facebook post, the celebration includes a fireworks show, live music, carnival rides, market vendors and food.
Other closings and road closures in Roanoke over the holiday weekend include:
- Roanoke Public Library: closed July 3-4
- Roanoke Recreation Center: will close at 6 p.m. July 3, closed July 4
There will also be several street closures during the July 3 celebration:
- Oak Street will be closed from Parish Lane to Lamar Street starting at 7 a.m. July 3.
- Parish Lane will close from Oak Street to Convention Way starting at 4 p.m. July 3.
- No parking will be allowed on the east and west side of Walnut Street from Byron Nelson Boulevard to SH 170.
- No parking will be allowed on the north side of both Bowie and Rusk streets from Oak Street to Walnut Street, and on the north side of Main Street from Oak Street to Turner Avenue.
Trash and recycling pickups on Tuesdays are not expected to be affected by the holiday schedule.
Fort Worth
Fort Worth has several facility closures and updates for the Fourth of July holiday, according to a city news release. City offices will be closed July 3, though emergency services will be available as usual.
Other office closures include:
- Animal Care & Control: the Chuck & Brenda Silcox Center and Henry’s Animal Campus will be closed July 4.
- All Fort Worth public libraries will be closed July 4.
- Recreational amenities: all community centers and the Haws Athletic Center will be closed July 3-4. The McLeland Tennis Center and Log Cabin Village will be open July 3 but closed July 4. Meadowbrook, Rockwood Park and Pecan Valley golf courses, the Nature Center & Refuge and Marine Park and Forest Park pools will be open both days.
- Public transit: Trinity Metro will provide free rides on all local Tarrant County. Trinity Metro buses and On-Demand paratransit will operate on Sunday schedules (5:30-7:30 a.m. and 4-7:30 p.m.). Bus route 46 will offer extended late-night service to accommodate guests enjoying the Fort Worth's Fourth fireworks at Panther Island. Trinity Metro TEXRail will operate on a regular schedule. Trinity Railway Express and TRE LINK will operate on the World Cup non-matchday weekend schedule. On-Demand rideshare services will operate on a regular weekend schedule. CentrePort Circulator will not operate.
Residential collections, including garbage, recycling, yard waste and bulk waste, will operate as usual July 3.
