The city of Fort Worth launched a new app called ReadyFW that delivers real-time news and alerts to residents, according to a March 25 news release.
The details
The app sends alerts through text, phone call and email to reach subscribers quickly during an emergency event, the release states. The new system is designed to strengthen the city's communication efforts to its residents and anyone else who downloads the app to enhance public safety and provide transparency.
Incidents that would prompt a notification include weather alerts, public safety alerts, readiness and preparation information and community updates.
