Three ward seats are up for grabs in Roanoke during the May 1 election

Three Roanoke City Council ward seats are up for grabs in the May 1 election. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Candidates for Roanoke City Council Ward 1 are incumbent Angela Diane Grimm and challenger Hogan Page. Grimm is a homemaker and has served on City Council since 2015. Page is a loan officer and currently serves as the treasurer for the Northwest Metroport Chamber of Commerce.

Candidates for Roanoke City Council Ward 2 are Bryan Moyers and Michael J. Callaway. Moyers is a firearms dealer and serves on his neighborhood homeowners association board of directors. Callaway has 20 years of experience in the financial industry.

Candidates for Roanoke City Council’s unexpired Ward 3 are Paul Laymon, Michelle Davidson and David Brundage. Laymon is a musician. Davidson works as a project manager. Brundage is a certified financial planner.
