Katy Flewellen Road is set to expand from two lanes into a four-lane concrete boulevard, according to Fort Bend County.
The project, which aims to increase mobility in the area, began construction in January and paused in November. It is expected to be completed in May.
“There was a pause due to some utility issues, but we’ve gotten all those issues resolved, so our estimated completion is May of 2022,” Assistant County Engineer Ike Akinwande said.
The project aims to increase the number of cars that can drive on the road. Currently the road has one lane going in each direction, but once the project is complete there will be two lanes going in each direction.
