The Fort Bend County Toll Road Authority will pursue a restriping project in the next six to eight weeks at the intersection of the Grand Parkway and FM 1093, according to the Fort Bend County Precinct 3 Office and Mike Stone of Mike Stone Associates Inc., which is associated with the project.
The plans include restriping to add an additional optional right-turn lane from southbound Grand Parkway to westbound FM 1093, Stone and the Precinct 3 office said. The existing configuration has only one dedicated right-turn lane and two straight lanes.
When the project is completed, there will be one dedicated lane for a right turn, one lane for traffic to turn right or go straight and a lane for straight traffic only, they said.
Stone stressed that this is a painting project, not a widening project, which would have involved years of design work and construction work to build retaining walls.
