The city of Fulshear, Fort Bend County and the Johnson Development, the developer of Cross Creek Ranch, have partnered to relieve traffic at the intersection of Charger Way and FM 1093.
Fort Bend County began building a westbound temporary asphalt road to connect Charger Way to Katy Fulshear Road, which goes southbound to FM 1093, on Nov. 13, said Robert Pechukas, Fort Bend County Precinct 3's manager of policy and administration. The project cost was not immediately available, but construction is expected to be completed before the end of 2019.
This temporary road will help relief traffic associated with the three Lamar CISD schools located on the 0.7-mile Charger Way, Fort Bend County Commissioner Andy Meyers and Fulshear Mayor Aaron Groff said at a special Nov. 12 City Council meeting. Parents, students and staff only have one access point to the three schools on Charger Way from FM 1093.
“I have some friends [in Jordan Ranch] who are spending as much as an hour each way because of the current configuration,” Groff said.
