The Asia Society Texas Center in Houston’s Museum District will host a film festival this weekend, celebrating the voices of India and the diaspora with movies, documentaries and shorts, as well as a reception each day and live music performances.

The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts in Spring is the site for family activities including art exhibits, face painting, story time and crafting. The event will also feature a history of jazz performance from the Dinky Drum Company LLC.

The City of Sugar Land Black History Month Celebration
Urban Souls Dance Company will come to Sugar Land Town Square for a Black History Month performance. The group’s work prioritizes racial equity, healing and justice through dance, education and advocacy. In addition to the live performance, this event features an all-Black vendor market with diverse businesses, artisans, bookstores, authors and food vendors.

Jazzy Sundays in the Parks kickoff
This special preview to Jazzy Sundays in the Parks celebrates the rich history of Black music in Houston. The Jazzy Sundays in the Parks series is made possible through a grant from the Kinder Foundation, and the event features free concerts in three Houston-area parks—Emancipation Park, Discovery Green and Buffalo Bayou Park.
