Improvements are set to continue on Harris Street in Downtown Fulshear.
What residents need to know
At an April 21 meeting, Fulshear City Council approved a $2.3 million construction contract with iCON GC LLC for the second phase of the Harris Street project.
The new contract comes after city officials canceled its contract with DG Medina Construction due to performance deficiencies, said David Licon, assistant director of public works for the city of Fulshear.

Staff intends to propose a change order to add select additional services following a May budget amendment with cost savings from another project, Project Manager Matthew Riley said.
Additional service options include landscaping, plaza string lighting and a concrete sidewalk north of Fifth Street.
Looking ahead
A notice to proceed is expected to be issued May 7 with substantial completion expected in late January, Riley said.
