Memorial Hermann breaks ground on Convenient Care Center in Katy

Referencing the movie "Field of Dreams" when referring to Katy's growth, Olson said, "If you build it, they will come."

"When I moved here in 1972, Katy was just a small town on the railroad tracks. Man, oh man, has that small town changed. It's now booming Katy, Texas."

Dan Wolterman, CEO of Memorial Hermann Health System, said the center is located at the intersection of the Grand Parkway and Westpark Tollway to provide health care services to a growing part of the city. He said officials are already planning to expand the facility even before a wall has been built.

"We acquired a lot more land than we traditionally would for a facility like this convenient care center simply because we want to be able to grow services on this site with the growth of the Katy community," Wolterman said.
