Katy and Fulshear residents can partake in early voting for the May 26 primary runoff election from May 18-22 with polls open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
The runoff races come after no candidates garnered the majority of the vote in the March 3 primaries.
What residents need to know
Fort Bend County residents can cast their votes at any of the 31 early voting locations countywide, according to Fort Bend County’s election website.
Meanwhile, Harris County residents can also cast ballots at any of 48 early voting locations countywide, per Harris County’s election website.
Additionally, Waller County residents can cast ballots at any of four early voting locations countywide, per the county’s election Facebook page.
Voters should bring at least one of seven forms of appropriate identification options to the polls, including a Texas drivers license, personal ID card, handgun license, military ID card or U.S. passport, according to the Texas Secretary of State’s website.
On the ballot
Texas’ runoff elections, like primaries, are separated by political party. This means voters who participated in this year’s Republican primary are only allowed to vote in the Republican runoff, and those who voted in the Democratic primary can only vote in the Democratic runoff.
Individuals who did not vote in the March primaries or participate in a third-party nominating convention are eligible to vote in either party’s runoff.
The runoff election will include several Fort Bend County as well as a Texas House seat and U.S. House seat, including:
Fort Bend County judge Democratic primary
Fort Bend County clerk Democratic primary
Fort Bend County treasurer Democratic primary
Fort Bend County Precinct 4 commissioner Republican primary
Harris County judge Democratic primary
Harris County judge Republican primary
U.S. House District 38 Republican primary
Texas House District 149 Democratic primary
There are also several state races in the runoff, including the Texas attorney general for both Democratic and Republican parties, and the Democratic Texas lieutenant governor position.

Looking ahead
Election day is May 26 with voting locations open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m., according to the Texas secretary of state’s website.
Fort Bend County registered voters can cast their ballot at any of the 67 locations countywide on election day, while Harris County voters can choose any of 162 locations countywide, according to the counties' respective websites.
Waller County voters are required to vote at their assigned voter precinct locations on election day.
The winners of the runoff are set to face off in the Nov. 3 elections with early voting from Oct. 19-30.
