Lamar Consolidated ISD students looking to continue their education beyond the standard classroom model will now have more opportunities with the district’s new career and technical education center this fall.
What to expect
District officials said the CTE center, located at 1155 Hartledge Road in Rosenberg, will give students access to specialized programs and industry-standard equipment aimed at furthering learning innovation and career preparation.
The 236,211-square-foot center—which will be used by 1,100 high school students districtwide in the first year—will offer hands-on learning experiences that meet workforce needs and educate students with career-ready skills, certifications and real-world experiences.
It will also enhance partnerships with local businesses and industry leaders while reinforcing the LCISD's commitment to preparing students for life after high school in whatever path students choose.

District officials said the center and its programs became essential after noticing growth in enrollment and workforce demands.
The $174.8 million facility was funded by the district’s $1.52 billion bond approved by voters in November 2022. Construction began in August 2024 and was completed in May 2026.

At an Aug. 7 ribbon-cutting ceremony, Kayse Lazar, executive director of CTE and career readiness, said the CTE center falls in line with the district’s long-term goal of instilling students with the ability to succeed.
“This center was built for students,” Lazar said. “It was built for the young person who dreams of becoming a nurse, the young person who dreams of becoming a dental assistant, an electrician, a chef, a cosmetologist, a drone pilot, an automotive technician or an entrepreneur.”

The CTE center will officially open Aug. 29, district officials said.
