Updated Sept. 19 at 9:45 p.m. An announcement was made on the George Bush Intercontinental Airport Twitter account late Thursday evening that flights arriving at the airport would resume at 4 a.m. Friday morning. IAH officials urged those driving to the airport to only use the JFK entrance from Beltway 8, the Hardy Toll Road connector or Greens Road, according to the Twitter account. Updated Sept. 19 at 5:05 p.m. Officials with the George Bush Intercontinental Airport announced Thursday evening there would be no flights arriving at the airport today, but flights are anticipated to resume as scheduled starting tomorrow afternoon. Updated Sept. 19 at 3:40 p.m.  Hobby Airport officials announced Thursday afternoon that both inbound and outbound flights are operational as floodwaters have receded on surrounding roadways. At IAH, some roads have cleared, according to the airport's official Twitter account. Updated Sept. 19 at 1:50 p.m. According to airport officials, roads surrounding George Bush Intercontinental Airport continue to be flooded, and flights are delayed. The IAH Twitter account also reported that no parking lots operated by the airport have flooded. At Hobby Airport, flights are departing on a delayed basis, but arrivals are not taking place at this time. Originally posted at 11 a.m. Sept. 19 As of 9:34 a.m., severe rainfall from Tropical Depression Imelda has caused George Bush Intercontinental Airport Houston to ground all its flights, according to a post from IAH's Twitter account. Roughly an hour prior to the post, the IAH Twitter account posted that flights were being delayed an average of 50 minutes.
