According to unofficial results, Katy ISD Board of Trustees Position 1 incumbent Joe Adams narrowly secured another term in office. He received 2,198 votes, just edging out challenger Wayne Dolcefino who won 2,132 votes. Tim Dietz received 185.
"We are very happy with the win," Adams said. "I am very appreciative to my wife and the core team that helped us get this victory. It's not just a victory for me but it's a victory for Katy ISD as well.
"This will give us an opportunity to continue to make the education of our students our top priority, and that Katy ISD will contine to be a destination district."
Former TV reporter Dolcefino has been adamant and vocal concerning his disappointment in how transparent the district is in communicating to residents, and said he plans to give KISD a "communications makeover." Dietz, a lease analyst for BHP Billiton, said he decided to run for a position on the school board to be more involved in his children's district and would have brought a "fresh perspective."
