In addition to a bottled water drive-thru event set for Feb. 20 in Tomball, the Magnolia Police Department announced late Feb. 19 that residents can pick up bottled water from Magnolia City Hall, located at 18111 Buddy Riley Road, beginning at 9 a.m. until supplies last.
Additionally, Magnolia ISD officials announced late Feb. 19 that the district will open the Magnolia Event Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 20 for MISD employees affected by the winter storm to shower and receive clean water. Director of Communications Denise Meyers said in an email Feb. 19 the event center includes six showers each for men and women. Employees are asked to bring their own toiletries and towels.
"We hope this provides some assistance to our employees who may need some support at this time," she said.
The event center is located at 11658 FM 1488, Magnolia.
As previously reported, Local Church in Tomball has partnered with Convoy of Hope to offer a contactless drive-thru event Feb. 20, providing bottled water and baby diapers for families in need, the church announced on its Facebook page.
Attendees are able to receive items for free as supplies allow, according to the church. The drive-thru event will take place from noon-4 p.m. Feb. 20 at 24922 Hwy. 249, Tomball.

As water users in the city of Tomball and other local entities continue to be under a boil-water notice due to a lack of safe drinking water, Tomball city officials said the morning of Feb. 19 that the city can begin the process of rescinding the notice. The city noted on its Facebook page that the city's water system has regained its normal pressure after first issuing a boil-water notice Feb. 16 due to low water pressure amid freezing temperatures.
"We hope to lift the notice by Tuesday," the Feb. 19 post reads.
To aid in water supply, Harris County Precinct 4 staff has stepped up to distribute nonpotable water—water that is not safe for drinking but suitable for other purposes—at five locations across the county Feb. 19, including Burroughs Park in Tomball. Water distribution will take place from noon-5 p.m. at 9738 Hufsmith Road, Tomball.
