Applications for a place on the May 2 election ballot in Tomball and Magnolia may be filed starting Jan. 15.

In Magnolia, the election will be to fill the positions of mayor, City Council Position 4, City Council Position 5, and Magnolia ISD board of trustees positions 4 and 5. In Tomball, the election will be to fill City Council positions 1 and 5.

City of Magnolia

Incumbent Todd Kana filed Jan. 15 to run for re-election as mayor of the city, according to city information.


Position 4 is held by Brenda Hoppe, while Position 5 is held by Jonny Williams. Council members serve two-year terms and must live within the city of Magnolia. Learn more about filing for election in the city here.

Magnolia ISD

Magnolia ISD trustee Position 4 is held by Kristi Baker. Position 5 is held by Joe Duncan. Trustees serve three-year terms.
