Eastbound flyover construction on Hwy. 242
Project: Montgomery County commissioners and the Texas Department of Transportation are funding the construction of a flyover from northbound I-45 to eastbound Hwy. 242.
Update: According to the TxDOT project tracker, the project was given notice to proceed on Oct. 2 and an estimated completion date was given for Sept. 15, 2026. A date to begin work was not specified as of Dec. 27.

Project: The existing traffic signal at the intersection of Gosling Road and West Rayford Road will be replaced with a new mast-arm traffic signal.

FM 1488 widening west of Magnolia
Project: From the Waller County line to FM 1774, FM 1488 is being widened from two to four lanes with a continuous left turn lane.
Update: This project is 90% completed, according to a Jan. 6 media update from TxDOT.

- Cost: $35.35 million
- Funding source: state funds
Project: FM 1488 is being widened from two to four lanes with a continuous left turn lane between FM 1774 to west of FM 149.
Update: According to a Jan. 6 media update from TxDOT, this project is 40% completed.
- Timeline: June 2022-third quarter 2027
- Cost: $48.28 million
- Funding source: state funds
Project: Hufsmith-Kohrville Road will be widened from a two-lane asphalt roadway to a four-lane concrete boulevard with storm sewer and sidewalk from south of Rolling Glen Lane to north of Ezekiel Road.
Update: This project is under construction.

Project: TxDOT is using existing right of way on Hwy. 242 between FM 1488 and I-45 to widen lanes and restripe the intersections.
Update: As of the most recent information available in January, the project was 45% complete.
