1. FM 1488 west widening

The Texas Department of Transportation is 75% complete with a project to widen FM 1488 from the Waller County line near Joseph Road to FM 1774 in the city of Magnolia as of a July 6 update, the latest available. The project will widen the roadway from two lanes to four lanes with a continuous left-turn lane.

2. FM 1488 east widening

A project to widen FM 1488 on the east side of Magnolia is 26% completed as of a July 6 update from TxDOT. The project will widen FM 1488 from two lanes to four lanes with a continuous left-turn lane between FM 1774 in Magnolia and west of FM 149.

3. FM 1488 median

A TxDOT project to add a raised median along FM 1488 east of Magnolia continues to see delays. The project was slated to begin in the first quarter of 2023 but had not started construction as of a July 6 update from TxDOT. Crews will construct a raised median along FM 1488 from Mostyn Drive in Magnolia to I-45.
