1. Medical Complex Drive extension

The city of Tomball is extending Medical Complex Drive from the intersection of South Persimmon Street and Agg Road to Hufsmith-Kohrville Road. The project will connect Hwy. 249 and Hufsmith-Kohrville Road. The four-lane boulevard will extend South Persimmon as well to connect Holderrieth Road and FM 2920 in Tomball.

Timeline: June 2020-fourth quarter 2021

Cost: $18.9 million

Funding sources: city of Tomball 2016 bond funds, Tomball Economic Development Corp.


2. FM 2978 widening

The widening of FM 2978 from FM 1488 to near Hardin Store Road is 80% complete as of the Texas Department of Transportation's latest report Oct. 27. The TxDOT project, which was delayed to the fourth quarter of 2021, will expand the road from two lanes to four lanes on the Tomball-Magnolia border.

Timeline: September 2018-fourth quarter 2021

Cost: $22.52 million
