The Texas Department of Transportation pushed back its completion of widening its last segment of FM 2978 to the fourth quarter of 2021 due to utility relocations and added work. It was previously scheduled to finish in the second quarter of 2021. TxDOT is widening the road to four lanes between FM 1488 and Dry Creek, which is near Hardin Store Road.

Timeline: September 2018-fourth quarter 2021

Cost: $21.47 million
