Hwy. 249, FM 1488 closures to know this weekend, Jan. 30-Feb. 3

The Texas Department of Transportation and Houston TranStar database have announced two closures likely to cause delays in the Greater Tomball and Magnolia area this weekend, Jan. 30-Feb. 3.

Northbound lanes of Hwy. 249 between Rollingwood Street and Goodson Loop in Pinehurst will be closed from 9 p.m. Jan. 30 to 5 a.m. Jan. 31. Detour signs will be posted. This portion of the road will be closed again continuously from 9 p.m. Jan. 31 to 5 a.m. Feb. 3.


Eastbound and westbound lanes of FM 1488 will be closed between Ravenswood Drive and Buddy Riley Boulevard in Magnolia from 7 a.m. to noon Feb. 2. Drivers can detour via FM 149 or FM 1774.

Harris County officials unveil new three-year $8.93M community-initiated mental health care initiative

The community care model will focus on 10 ZIP codes totaling about 300,000 residents that have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19 and suicide, and that have a lower utilization of behavioral health care services, by providing mental health education and training to members of the community.
