Harris County Precinct 4 and Texas Department of Transportation crews are working on a Congestion Mitigation Air Quality project on North Eldridge Parkway, stretching from Clay to Spring Cypress roads in the Tomball-Cypress area. This project includes traffic signal installations at New Hampton and Guernsey drives in the Tomball area.

Other Tomball-area improvements will also include battery backup installations—which allow traffic signals to continue functioning in the case of an area power outage—to existing systems at Malcomson and Louetta roads, Precinct 4 officials said. Construction is scheduled to be complete on the CMAQ project in late March, barring unforeseen circumstances.

Precinct 4 is also pursuing a separate widening of the parkway from Spring Cypress Road to Westlock Drive in Tomball, which is still in the design phase and scheduled to be advertised for construction bids in the first quarter of 2020.
