The Texas Department of Transportation and Houston TranStar database have announced closures on portions of Hwy. 249 and FM 1488 in the Tomball and Magnolia area this weekend:
A total closure of northbound main lanes of Hwy. 249 between Rollingwood Street and Circle Lake Drive in Magnolia is scheduled from midnight Jan. 5 to 5 a.m. Jan. 6. Detour signs will be posted.
Two inside lanes of the northbound Hwy. 249 frontage road between Vallie Street and Hardin Store Road are closed overnight from 9 p.m. Jan. 4, to 5 a.m. Jan. 5.
One alternate lane of the northbound Hwy. 249 frontage road between FM 2920 and Spring Creek is closed Jan. 4 from 7 a.m.-5 p.m.
One alternate lane of the southbound Hwy. 249 frontage road between FM 2920 and Spring Creek is closed Jan. 4, from 7 a.m.-5 p.m.
The U-turn lane of the Hwy. 249 eastbound frontage road at Zion Road is closed Jan. 6 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
A total closure of the eastbound Hwy. 249 frontage road at Zion Road is scheduled for Jan. 6 from 9 a.m.-noon. Eastbound drivers can turn right onto the southbound frontage road to Baker Road, turn left into the intersection and continue going north or turn right.
The U-turn lane of the Hwy. 249 eastbound frontage road at Baker Drive is closed overnight from 10 p.m. Jan. 6 to 5 a.m. Jan. 7. The eastbound frontage road at Baker Drive will also be closed from 10 p.m. Jan. 6 to 1 a.m. Jan. 7. Eastbound drivers can turn right onto the southbound frontage road to the Brown Road intersection where they can turn or continue going north.
The westbound Hwy. 249 frontage road at Zion Road will be closed Jan. 6 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Westbound drivers can turn right onto the northbound frontage road, turn left at Decker Prairie-Rosehill Road and continue on.
A total closure of FM 1488 eastbound and westbound between Ravenswood Drive and Buddy Riley Boulevard in Magnolia is scheduled from 9 p.m. Jan. 6 to 5 a.m. Jan. 7. Drivers can detour by using FM 149 and FM 1774.
