Ongoing projects

1. The Tomball Economic Development Corporation is finalizing designs for a traffic signal and left-turn lane at Holderrieth and Hufsmith-Kohrville roads before plans are sent to Harris County. The project will be sent out for bid by the county in the second quarter of 2017, barring any unforeseen circumstances. Estimated timeline: Second quarter 2017-TBA.

2. When finished, the Texas Department of Transportation flyover at FM 1488 and FM 149 in Magnolia will allow a direct connection between the two roadways. The $27.6 million project also includes widening FM 1488 to four lanes and adding a center-turn lane. Estimated timeline: December 2015-fourth quarter 2017.

3. Construction began in late February on Phase 2 of the Tomball Tollway extension, which will extend the existing tollway from north of FM 2920 in Tomball to Spring Creek when completed. The third and fourth phases of the tollway extension—consecutively extending the tollway from Montgomery to Grimes counties—are set to be complete in late 2019. Estimated timeline: February 2017- December 2019.
