The intersections of Zion and Brown roads at Hwy. 249 will be closed temporarily Aug. 6, the Texas Department of Transportation and Houston TranStar
database announced Monday.
Drivers eastbound and westbound on Zion Road can expect a total closure at the Hwy. 249 frontage road on Tuesday, Aug. 6. Zion Road eastbound will be closed from noon to 3 p.m. Westbound lanes will be closed from 9 a.m. to noon.
All eastbound traffic from Lone Star College-Tomball can detour by turning right onto the southbound Hwy. 249 frontage road and continuing on to turn left at the Baker Drive intersection. Drivers can then turn left again to continue onto the northbound frontage road to Zion Road to continue eastbound or northbound. Westbound drivers on Zion Road can turn right on the northbound Hwy. 249 frontage road and turn right at Decker Prairie/Hardin Store roads. Drivers can then U-turn under the Decker Prairie Road overpass and continue to Zion Road.
Drivers eastbound and westbound on Brown Road can expect a total closure of the Hwy. 249 frontage road on Aug. 6 as well. Eastbound lanes on Brown Road will be closed from noon to 3 p.m. while westbound lanes will be closed from 9 a.m. to noon.
Eastbound drivers can detour by turning right on the southbound Hwy. 249 frontage road to FM 2920, making a U-turn and continuing northbound to Brown Road. Westbound drivers can detour by turning right on the northbound frontage road to Baker Drive, making a U-turn and continuing south to Brown Road.
Other lane closures to know this week
- One alternate lane northbound and southbound on FM 1774 between FM 1486 and Mill Creek Drive in Todd Mission is closed daily 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Saturday, Aug. 10.
- One alternating lane of the northbound Hwy. 249 frontage road between FM 2920 and Spring Creek is closed daily 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Saturday, Aug. 10.
- One alternating lane of the southbound Hwy. 249 frontage road between Spring Creek and FM 2920 is closed daily 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Saturday, Aug. 10.
