Spring Cypress Road to be widened in Tomball area

A Harris County Precinct 4 project seeks to improve traffic congestion and air quality through improvements to Spring Cypress Road. A joint effort with the Texas Department of Transportation, the project will widen Spring Cypress to six lanes from Hwy. 249 to east of Hufsmith-Kohrville Road and rebuild the traffic signal at Hufsmith-Kohrville.
Timeline: March 2019-June 2020
Cost: $5.5 million (all improvements)
Funding sources: Harris County Precinct 4, TxDOT

  1. That’s great but the real problem is the intersection of 249 and Spring Cypress, in all 4 directions. The rush-hour gridlock there is awful and it’s frequently bad in non-rush hour times as well.

    THAT’s where they need to be focusing.
