FM 1488 overpass construction and 2 other ongoing road projects to know in Tomball, Magnolia


1. The Texas Department of Transportation is working to widen FM 1774 from two to four lanes with a center turn lane between West Lost Creek Boulevard and FM 149 in Pinehurst. The project—49 percent complete in early January—totals $18.5 million.
Estimated timeline: July 2016 – third quarter 2018

2. TxDOT crews are constructing an FM 1774 overpass from FM 1486 south to FM 1488 in Magnolia, a project estimated to cost $18.5 million. The project was 58 percent complete as of early January.
Estimated timeline: December 2016 – third quarter 2019

3. Construction of a $28.5 million FM 1488 overpass at the intersection of FM 149 in Magnolia is nearing completion. TxDOT crews are 89 percent done with the project, which also widens FM 1488 to four lanes between Mill Creek and Community roads with a continuous left-turn lane. The project was previously set to be complete in the first quarter of 2018.
