The Eric Paddy Memorial Disc Golf Course will host grand opening festivities Oct. 14 with a disc golf tournament, a blood drive, food, games and auction items.

The 18-hole course, built on the campus of Graceview Baptist Church, is designed for newcomers and experienced disc golfers. It also includes a walking path, signage and benches with awnings. The course has been built in honor of Eric Paddy, an adaptive physical education coach in Tomball ISD who died in 2021 at age 44 from colorectal cancer, according to a news release.

The grand opening includes:
  • A doubles disc golf tournament will have registration beginning at 7 a.m. for an 8:05 a.m. start. Players can sign up online in advance and secure a spot for a $20 donation.
  • A blood donor van will be on-site from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. from the MD Anderson Cancer Center. Donors can register in advance and must bring a photo ID.
  • Food, games and auction items will be available from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Donations for the course can be given on the church's website or mailed to Graceview Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1927, Tomball, TX 77377, with the subject line as the Eric Paddy Memorial Disc Golf Course.
