Cities of Tomball, Magnolia to open public pool, splash pad this Memorial Day weekend

Tomball and Magnolia residents can start their summer fun at the Jerry Matheson Public Pool in Tomball and the splash pad in Unity Park this weekend.

City of Magnolia officials announced the splash pad in Unity Park, 19450 Unity Park Drive, Magnolia, will be open this Memorial Day weekend starting May 24 through Labor Day, Sept. 2. The park is open from 7 a.m.-dark and is free to enter; however, parental supervision is expected, City Secretary Lynne George said in an email.

The city of Tomball's public pool, located in Jerry Matheson Park, 1240 Ulrich Road, Tomball, will also be open this weekend for preseason swimming. The pool is free to enter and open to all ages, but children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

From June 4-Aug. 18, the Jerry Matheson Public Pool is open Tue.-Fri. from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sat.-Sun. from noon-8 p.m. with preseason and postseason hours also available, according to the city of Tomball's website.

Preseason and postseason schedules are listed below.

Preseason:

  • May 25-26: noon-8 p.m.

  • May 27 (Memorial Day): 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

  • June 1: 3-8 p.m.

  • June 2: noon-8 p.m.


Postseason:

  • Aug. 24-25, 31: noon-8 p.m.

  • Sept. 1: noon-8 p.m.

  • Sept. 2 (Labor Day): 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
