A disc golf course is in the works for Graceview Baptist Church at 21206 Telge Road, Tomball. A groundbreaking will be held May 20 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. for the Eric Paddy Memorial Disc Golf Course, which is expected to open to the public in October.

The 18-hole course will be built to challenge regular disc golfers as well as entertain newcomers to the sport; the site will also include a half-mile walking path and benches.

The course is being built in honor of Eric Paddy, an adaptive physical education coach in Tomball ISD who loved spending time outdoors with family and friends and died in 2021 from colorectal cancer, according to a news release.

What's next

The groundbreaking includes festivities and a barbecue lunch available for a $15 donation. Guests are asked to RSVP to [email protected] or 832-600-2204.
