Tomball’s Resale with a Purpose is nearing its goal of donating $2 million to area nonprofits and organizations, a year earlier than it originally pledged. This comes three years after the nonprofit reached its $1 million donation goal a year early in 2019.

“The next checks we write, ... it’s going to put us at or over the top of the $2 million-dollar mark,” said Brad Bartlett, board president of Resale with a Purpose.

To celebrate, the nonprofit will hold a private event Sept. 30, where those next checks will be presented, Bartlett said.

The resale shop, which opened in 2014, donates 100% of its proceeds to a variety of community organizations, including TOMAGWA Healthcare Ministries, Boys and Girls Country, and the Tomball police and fire departments.

Since 2014, TOMAGWA has received $194,000 from Resale with a Purpose, which has helped fund 1,940 patient visits and 5,820 prescription medications, according to CEO Timika Simmons.

“The impact is real,” Simmons said. “It’s real, and that’s what makes it special.”

With this goal in sight, Resale with a Purpose set a new goal of giving away $3 million in donations by the end of 2024. The nonprofit is located at 28583 Hwy. 249, Tomball, and can be reached at 281-255-1450.
