Ongoing projects


1. The Texas Department of Transportation’s FM 1488 overpass at FM 149 in Magnolia was 97 percent complete as of mid-August. The $28.9 million project also widens FM 1488 to four lanes between Mill Creek and Community roads.

2. TxDOT’s $18.8 million project to widen FM 1774 between West Lost Creek Boulevard and FM 149 in Pinehurst from two to four lanes was 66 percent complete as of mid-August.
Estimated timeline: July 2016-third quarter 2018

3. A railroad overpass at FM 1774 in Magnolia is under construction from FM 1486 to FM 1488. The TxDOT project totaling $23.3 million was 71 percent complete as of mid-August.
Estimated timeline: December 2016-third quarter 2019

4. Harris County Precinct 4 is working to extend Holderrieth Road in Tomball from Hwy. 249 west to Calvert Road as a four-lane concrete pavement section. Unitas Construction is working on
the $6 million project.

5. Spring Creek bridge improvements
A project by TxDOT to replace and widen the FM 2978 bridge over Spring Creek from two to four lanes is set to begin in the fourth quarter of 2018.
Timeline: fourth quarter 2018-first quarter 2020

6. FM 2978 widening
The two-phase project by TxDOT widens FM 2978 from two to four lanes between FM 1488 and Hufsmith-Conroe Road. Work on the southern part of the project began in January, while crews are awaiting utility
relocation for work to begin on the remaining segment. However, work is anticipated to begin in the third quarter of 2018 between FM 1488 and Dry Creek.
Timeline: January 2018-fourth quarter 2019 (southern segment), third quarter 2018-TBD (northern segment)

7. Hufsmith-Kohrville Road Segment 2 widening
Harris County Precinct 4’s project widens Hufsmith-Kohrville Road between Hollow Glen Lane and Ezekiel Road in Tomball from two to four lanes and adds traffic signals at Lacey and Ezekiel roads. Officials said they anticipate sending the project out for a construction bid in the fourth quarter of 2018.

8. North Eldridge Parkway widening
The Harris County Precinct 4 project widens North Eldridge Parkway between Spring Cypress Road and Westlock Drive in Tomball from a two-lane asphalt road to a four-lane concrete boulevard. The project also adds traffic signals at Gregson Road and Westlock Drive. The project is set to be sent out for a construction bid in the first quarter of 2019.
