TOM-2017-5-10-1 Ongoing Projects

1. Plans for a traffic signal and left-turn lane at Holderrieth and Hufsmith-Kohrville roads will be sent out for bid by Harris County in the second quarter of 2017.  Second quarter 2017-TBA

2.The Texas Department of Transportation overpass project at FM 1488 and FM 149 in Magnolia will allow a direct connection between the two roadways and widen FM 1488 to four lanes with a center-turn lane.

3.TxDOT is working to build an FM 1774 overpass from FM 1488 north to FM 1486 to provide drivers a direct route over the Union Pacific railroad tracks in Magnolia.

4.TxDOT is working to widen a 2.8-mile stretch of FM 1774 from two to four lanes and add a center turn lane between West Lost Creek Boulevard and FM 149 in Pinehurst.

Project Updates

5.Boudreaux Road widening
The roadway will be widened from two to four lanes between Telge and Rocky roads in Tomball. The project is in the study phase.

6.Cypress Rosehill Road extension
Harris County precincts 3 and 4 have partnered to add a four-lane concrete section of Cypress Rosehill Road in Tomball, extending the roadway north across FM 2920 to tie into Decker Prairie Rosehill Road. The project is in the design phase.

Cost: $3.5 million

7.Holderrieth Road extension
The three-part project extends Holderrieth Road east to the Grand Parkway and west to Calvert Road in Tomball. The first leg of the project, which extends Holderrieth Road west from Hwy. 249 to Calvert Road as a four-lane roadway, is in the design phase and slated to go out for bid in the second quarter of 2017. Segment 2, which is in the study phase, widens the existing roadway between Hwy. 249 and FM 2978 from two to four lanes. Segment 3 is also in the study phase and extends Holderrieth Road east from FM 2978 to the Grand Parkway at Champion Forest Drive as a four-lane roadway.

8.Hufsmith-Kohrville Road widening
Segment 6 of the Hufsmith-Kohrville Road expansion will widen the existing roadway between Willow Creek Estates Lane and FM 2920 from two to four lanes. The segment is in the design phase and is expected to be sent out for bid in the second quarter of 2017.
