Hufsmith-Kohrville Road widening1. Hufsmith-Kohrville Road widening


Harris County continues the expansion of Hufsmith-Kohrville Road. Construction on Segment 1,
which will be widened from two to four lanes from south of Spring Cypress Road to Hollow Glen Lane, is expected to be complete by March 15. Segment 6, which will span from Mahaffey Road to
FM 2920, is expected to be sent out for bid in the fourth quarter of 2016.
Timeline: Feb. 16, 2015-March 16, 2016 (Segment 1), TBA (Segment 6)

2. Improvements at Hufsmith-Kohrville and Holderrieth roads


Designs for a traffic signal and intersection improvements are under review by the Tomball Economic Development Corporation before they are sent to the county. Harris County expects to send the project out for bid in the first quarter of 2016.

3. Fagan Lane


This newly proposed Harris County road will create a thoroughfare between Cedar Lane and Telge Road that will run parallel to the Grand Parkway. The project is in the design phase and is expected to be sent out for bid in the first quarter of 2016.

4.  Telge Road widening


The proposed project will widen five segments of the road from two to four lanes starting from south of Little Cypress Creek to FM 2920. The
6.5-mile project will also widen the Telge Road bridge over Little Cypress Creek. The project is still in the study phase, which will take 18 to 24 months to complete. Design plans, right of way acquisition and utility adjustments must be completed before construction can begin.

5. Nichols Sawmill Road extension


The proposed 3.5-mile road extension will create a two-lane road connecting Nichols Sawmill Road to Sanders Cemetery Road north of FM 2920. Montgomery County officials are working with engineers to finalize design plans by early February. Construction is expected to be complete by the fourth quarter of 2016.

Cost: $9.7 million

6. Holderrieth Road extension


The proposed route will extend Holderrieth Road from just west of Calvert Road and Hwy. 249 to accommodate future development in the area. An engineering study that established the alignment and a four-lane concrete road with appropriate drainage system, drainage mitigation and environmental assessments is nearing completion.

7. The Grand Parkway segments F-1, F-2 and G


Delayed from an initial opening date of end of 2015, officials with the Texas Department of Transportation announced in January that segments F-1 and F-2, connecting Hwy. 290 to I-45, are expected to open in early February. The segments have not opened to the public as of press time. A completion date for Segment G has not been announced, but officials with the Zachry-Odebrecht Parkway Builders firm have previously said the segment would open sometime in the first quarter of 2016.
