Every cinema chair will now have the ability to recline and be reserved online at Premiere Cinema Tomball, said Joel Davis Premiere Cinema’s vice president of operations.

“Our [customers] can go online and reserve the seats in the theater,” he said. “It’s a really nice upgrade, as people will be able to sit back and relax when we reopen.”

Located at 28497 Hwy. 249, Tomball, Premiere Cinema's concession stand has also been remodeled with granite countertops. Davis said while a self-service concession stand was initially planned, that option has been put on hold until it is deemed safe amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Although the cinema was closed for renovations prior to the state-mandated movie theater closures, Davis said no other upgrades needed to be made.

“[The theater] had been remodeled seven years ago, and the way it had been maintained it looked just like we had opened it a year ago,” he said. “The only upgrade that needed to happen was the chairs and countertops.”

Davis said they are still evaluating when the cinema will reopen to the public.

“We are still studying what theaters have opened and evaluating the product that is available to us from the film studios,” he said. “We don’t want to [open] too early.”

When Premiere Cinema Tomball reopens it will be showing films released before the closure, as well as classics made available from production companies, Davis said.
