In a statement this morning, HCA's Gulf Coast Division announced the closing of a transaction to purchase Tomball Regional Medical Center and associated facilities, including nine locations of Affinity Medical Associates and the Affinity Emergency Center at Magnolia. The acquisition was announced
in early May.
According to the statement, TRMC began a search last year for a new health care partnership.
“HCA Healthcare is that partner – a healthcare leader that understands and is committed to high-quality, community-based hospitals,” said John Neubauer, chairman of the Tomball Regional Medical Center board of trustees, in statement released by HCA and TRMC. “All across the country, HCA Healthcare empowers local caregivers and gives back to the communities they operate in. That is our commitment to our neighbors in the Tomball area, and we are excited to have found a partner with the same culture.”
Despite the sale, TRMC's name will stay the same and Interim CEO Brett Kinman has stayed on through the transition. In addition to TRMC, HCA also bought three more
hospitals in the Greater Houston area earlier this summer, including Houston Northwest Medical Center and Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital. The finalization of those transactions has not yet been announced.
“For more than 40 years, Tomball Regional Medical Center physicians and staff have been delivering high quality care to this community,” said HCA Gulf Coast Division President Troy Villarreal. “We are pleased to welcome them into the HCA Gulf Coast Division family and are committed to ensuring that they have the tools, resources and collaboration needed to ensure that continues for the next 40 years and beyond.”
The purchase price for TRMC has not been disclosed.
