HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball named Robert Marmerstein its new CEO on June 26, following the departure of Eric Evans, who led the Tomball hospital since December 2017. Marmerstein comes to Tomball from HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood where he has served as chief operating officer since 2017, according to a June 26 release from HCA Houston Healthcare.

Marmerstein will assume his role in Tomball on July 13, according to the release.

“Robert’s talents in the areas of strategic community and physician relations, operations and capital development projects will be invaluable assets to the growth of HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball,” said Evan Ray, chief administrative office of HCA Houston Healthcare, in the release. “He is passionate about expanding on the excellent services that the community has come to expect, and I know he will bring fresh ideas and his sincere commitment to his new role.”

During his time at HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood, the campus has grown and enhanced multiple services, including emergency and trauma care, cardiovascular surgery, orthopedics, and women and children’s care. He also oversaw capital improvement projects, such as a $35 million patient tower expansion and a freestanding emergency center, according to the release.

Previously, Marmerstein served as chief operating officer of HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland, associate chief operating officer of LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia, and as an administrative resident at Reston Hospital Center in Reston, Virginia.
