The city of Tomball is hosting an open house to discuss its comprehensive plan from 6-8 p.m. on Feb. 24 at the Administrative Services Building. The plan will serve as a road map for the city’s next 10-20 years, according to a notice posted on the city’s website.

A formal presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. and attendees will be able to engage in conversation with city officials on their hopes and goals for the city, according to the website.

The comprehensive plan has been in the works since 2023, which began with background analysis, according to prior reporting.

According to the city’s website, the plan will help guide decisions related to:
  • Land use
  • Transportation
  • Downtown Tomball
  • Economic development
  • Housing
The last comprehensive plan was adopted in 2019, per prior reporting, and the last public meeting for the comprehensive plan was held in January 2024.

Tomball City Council approved updating the comprehensive plan during a May 2023 council meeting, as previously reported, and Freese and Nichols Inc. are developing the plan for $450,000.
