Tomball City Council approved a rezoning request at its Sept. 16 meeting for a light industrial project.

The breakdown

Council approved rezoning 10.89 acres of land, legally described as a tract of land, from single-family residential to light industrial, according to the agenda packet.

Developer Mike Evenson said he plans on purchasing the land to build a light industrial park that would cater to small businesses and allow business owners to have a storefront without footing the cost of building.

Quote of note

“Here we can develop 10 acres, carve it up into smaller lots, 1-acre lots, and sell 5,000-square-foot building to 10,000-square-foot building to small businesses that can afford this piece of property,” Developer Mike Evenson said at the Sept. 16 meeting.
