Magnolia VFW Post 12213 has found a new home within Magnolia, said Matthew Dantzer, a Magnolia City Council member and post commander for the Magnolia VFW, via email. Previously, the post was meeting at the restaurants Las Fuentes and Sauced Up, Dantzer said.

“We have always wanted a location [where] we could come together, a home where we could host community events,” Dantzer said. “It’s a place to share our comradeship, history and a sense of community.”

VFW membership is open to those who have served honorably on foreign soil or in hostile waters, according to prior reporting.

The Magnolia post was first established in September 2022, Community Impact previously reported. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month.

“We come together to serve the community and one another,” Dantzer said. “We help veterans access benefits they may have not known about or thought it was difficult to get. ... We provide a network of men and women who served this country to come together in support of one another. No one does more for veterans than the VFW.”
