The city of Magnolia is advising customers to stop all nonessential water use during emergency water well repairs, which are expected to take 48-72 hours, according to a July 7 news release.

What’s happening

During emergency repairs to one of the city’s water wells, customers may experience low water pressure or be without water. The city is encouraging residents to make preparations to be without water service, according to the news release.

The city of Magnolia is under a temporary development moratorium related to a lack of water capacity and is under construction with two water wells—Well No. 7 and Well No. 8. Both wells are expected to be completed by the end of the year, Community Impact previously reported.



The specifics

During the emergency repairs, irrigation, car washing, recreational activities involving water and pool filling are prohibited, according to the news release. City personnel may turn off the water for any customers who do not comply.

If water pressures drop below the required minimum level, a boil-water notice may be issued, according to the news release.
